WORK WITH ME

Do you find yourself constantly worrying about making decisions (or mistakes)?
Often we create unneeded worry and anxiety in our lives by not being decisive. We want to be deliberate and careful before making the next move, but in the process we can make ourselves crazy.
Worrying about decisions can show up in many forms. It can be as small as deciding what’s for dinner or as big as choosing whether to change jobs.
If you’re a worry wart, it likely relates to your need to be perfect.
I have bad news for you.
You’re not perfect. No one is.
Buying time and weighing your options over and over again, thinking about all the likely outcomes, and conjuring up all the bad things that could happen if you decide wrongly won’t help your pursuit of perfection.
You’ll never get it exactly right all the time, but you’re guaranteed to stay stuck and in a state of anxiety if you don’t choose. When you constantly go back and forth, you drain all your precious energy.
Start measuring your success by how happy you are and how much fun you’re having.
If worry is winning the battle over happiness, it’s time to make a decision and move on.
Worry accomplishes nothing unless you can actually do something about the situation at hand. If you can do something, give it enough thought as is actually necessary, and then do it already.
Know that there is no right or wrong decision. The only bad one is not making a decision at all and living in a state of fear.
So what are you holding on to and worrying about that is only making you feel worse?
Do yourself a favor and make a decision and then give it your best shot.
If you can’t quite commit to a decision today, pick a date when you will decide and mark it on your calendar. Hold your feet to the fire and decide.
If you later don’t like the decision you made, you can change your mind.
Did you pick a recipe that tastes terrible? Throw it out and order a pizza. Do you hate your new job? Start looking for a new position within the company or an entirely new job.
Life isn’t nearly as complicated as we try to make it out to be.
Everything will work out. You will be fine. Just breathe.
Cheering you on,
Heather
